Most fraud-detection tools are built by software companies that have never run a campaign at 2am watching CPCs climb. Ciaro is built by a team that's spent 12 years doing exactly that — and the detection patterns the system recognizes today come from real fraud signatures we identified in real client accounts across more than a decade.
When a tool tells you a click looks fraudulent, you should care who's behind that judgment. Ours comes from twelve years of looking.
Why We Built Ciaro
Our clients kept asking us a question we couldn't fully answer.
"How much of our ad budget is actually reaching real customers?" Across thousands of audit conversations over the years, we kept finding the same answer — and it was worse than most clients expected.
We tried existing fraud tools. They caught the obvious cases — known bot networks, datacenter IPs, crude attacks. They missed the sophisticated patterns we were seeing in our client accounts every day. So we built our own internal detection system.
By 2024, that internal system had identified fraud patterns across hundreds of our agency's accounts. Clients started asking if they could use it directly. We turned it into a product. That product is Ciaro.
We didn't pivot from agency to SaaS. We're still an agency. We just built the tool we wished had existed when we started running campaigns in 2013.
How We Think About Fraud
We define click fraud as a data integrity problem, not a budget problem. When advertising systems learn from manipulated behavior, every optimization layer above them becomes less reliable — bidding, attribution, audience quality, and acquisition costs all degrade. Blocking invalid traffic matters because clean data matters.
Detection should be conservative, not aggressive.
Anyone can block traffic aggressively. The hard part is preserving real customers. Across 12 years and 7,000 clients, we learned what real customer behavior looks like — and we designed Ciaro to favor evidence over aggression.
Transparency over black-box scoring.
If a system can't explain why a click was flagged, it can't be trusted operationally. Every block in Ciaro is reviewable, with the underlying signals visible.
Fraud detection is adversarial.
The goal isn't perfection. It's making manipulation significantly harder, more expensive, and less effective. Our agency experience taught us that fraud evolves continuously; detection systems have to evolve with it.

Click fraud is the single biggest problem I've watched clients quietly lose money to. Not the kind platforms catch. The sophisticated kind — competitor IPs cycling through VPNs, click farms using real devices, bots that mimic human behavior well enough to pass built-in filters.
We had skin in the game long before Ciaro existed. We weren't outside observers studying click fraud academically. We were the people watching CPCs rise at 2am, seeing fake leads hit CRMs, and explaining wasted spend to clients every month. Ciaro was built from that frustration.
Ciaro is a small, technical team. Engineers, fraud researchers, and infrastructure builders — backed by Admoon's 12 years of agency operations. Most of the company works on detection systems and signal infrastructure. We're not sales-led, and we don't describe ourselves as world-class disruptors. We describe ourselves as the people who got tired of watching a solvable problem stay unsolved.
